PROTECTING TRADITIONAL FAMILY VALUES
Frances championed policies to protect Alabama’s children, including a ban of transgender procedures on minors and legally defining girls and boys. She also passed laws to keep boys out of girls’ sports and to remove sexually explicit materials from public schools and libraries, while voting to expand grandparent
rights and enacting laws to guarantee a parent’s right to know what’s being taught in their public school.
FIGHTING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
Frances supported President Trump’s efforts to strengthen border enforcement by passing laws that require fingerprinting and DNA testing for illegal immigrants, imposing criminal penalties for those who harbor illegal immigrants, and directing Alabama law enforcement to cooperate with ICE.
CUTTING TAXES & SHRINKING GOVERNMENT
Frances voted to cut more than $1.4 billion in taxes in her first four years including cutting the grocery tax (from 4% to 2%) and passed bills to exempt retirement income and overtime wages from state taxes. She sponsored a bill prohibiting price gouging in emergencies and demands strict review and closure of wasteful commissions and agencies, always fighting for greater accountability for citizens.
FAIR FUNDING FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Baldwin County is blessed with many wonderful public schools, and Frances believes every child deserves fair funding. She introduced the bill to ensure that Gulf Shores and Orange Beach receive their fair share of local tax dollars, while balancing that with increased state funding for Baldwin County's new career-tech high school and school expansion projects.
GROWING JOBS
Frances voted for a series of bills in the Jobs Act which provide tax credits to create more than 25,000 new jobs in Alabama. She also voted for bills to remove annual business reporting requirements, cut regulatory red tape and reduce unnecessary government regulations to help small businesses grow jobs.
FIGHTING FOR BETTER HEALTHCARE
Frances demanded health insurance companies remove deductibles for cancer testing. She voted to pass bills to remove state taxes on essential family items like hearing aids, diapers, wipes and formula, and has called to end profit boosting government subsidies for insurance companies.
BON SECOUR LANDMARK DISTRICT
Frances sponsored and helped establish the Bon Secour Landmark District to protect South Baldwin County from over-growth and development—standing up for residents and preserving what makes the community special.
